K-State Olathe launches official campus blog

OLATHE — Kansas State University Olathe is launching a new blog designed to provide students in Johnson County and the Greater Kansas City region with even more options for enhancing their careers.

In support of our strategic plan, K-State Olathe’s new blog – K-State Connections – is designed to provide current and future students, as well as graduates, with the skills, knowledge and information they need to succeed.

“We want our current and future students to know they’re supported in every way,” said Ben Wolfe, dean and CEO of K-State Olathe. “Our blog provides a way for readers to dive deeper into what they can expect from our team when they choose our campus, as well as ensure that each student has the resources and information that they need to be successful.”

Readers will be the first to know about upcoming programming and professional development opportunities at K-State Olathe, as well as special events. Additionally, the blog will cover topics designed to help each student succeed throughout their academic career.

A key feature of the blog will be an ongoing faculty spotlight series, which will highlight our faculty and their research projects, as well as degree and certificate options.

“We know that each student is unique, and their academic goals will vary based on their current circumstances,” said Kimberly Voight, director of Student Services. “That’s why we take every step possible to help support our learners through flexible program options, a variety of class styles and small classroom sizes.”

Readers will have a chance to hear directly from K-State Olathe graduates who have experience in their programs. Our ongoing spotlight series highlights students who know exactly what it’s like to pursue a degree while working full-time or juggling other responsibilities.

K-State Connections: The Olathe Campus Blog also will highlight important and upcoming services and resources that are available to students. For example, the campus provides support services, including a mentorship program, academic advising and financial aid assistance. The K-State Olathe Student Services team also provides career counseling to ensure that students are able to identify pathways to launching their desired careers.
