OLATHE — Four new graduate students at Kansas State University's Olathe campus are receiving $500 scholarships from four of the campus' industry partners.
Scholarships were awarded to new students enrolling in adult learning and leadership, school counseling, horticulture with an emphasis in urban food systems master's degree programs and the professional science master in applied science and technology program.
The four $500 scholarships were linked to K-State Olathe's recent All-University Open House. In order to be considered for one of the four scholarships, prospective students accepted into any of the graduate programs at K-State Olathe for the summer or fall 2018 semesters had to attend the Coffee with the Deans activity. There, students were able to meet the deans of K-State Olathe and the Graduate School, enjoy some complimentary coffee and pick up a scholarship application.
Applications were evaluated on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need and fit for the degree program.
"We are very thankful for the generous support of our industry partners and the benefit these awards will provide to help new students successfully begin their first semester at K-State Olathe," said Kimberly Ramacciotti, director of student services.
The scholarships were made possible with the support of Cargill Inc., Maxxam Analytics, Redivus Health and the Olathe Chamber of Commerce.
