K-State Olathe Announces 2026 Student Award Recipients

OLATHE — Kansas State University Olathe has recognized seven outstanding students across three award categories, celebrating excellence in scholarship, research and industry engagement.

"Our students consistently go above and beyond, balancing demanding coursework, research and professional responsibilities with remarkable dedication. These awards are a well-deserved recognition of that commitment," said Kimberly Voight, assistant dean of student services.

The Clay Blair Outstanding Student Award was presented to Michael Gibson, a recent graduate from the master’s in public health program; Maggie Lambert, a bachelor’s student in personal financial planning; and Madison Amundson, a recent graduate from the veterinary biomedical sciences master’s program. The award honors students who demonstrate exceptional scholarship, professional development or creativity in alignment with K-State Olathe's core values.

The Excellence in Research Contributions Award was presented to Jocelyne Freitas, a recent graduate from the master's in food, nutrition and health program; Vikas Kumar Galipothu, a doctoral student in the horticulture and natural resources program; and Morgan Key, a recent graduate from the veterinary biomedical sciences master’s program.

The Outstanding Connections to Industry Partners Award was presented to Doris Agyei, who completed a successful industry internship that resulted in a full-time job offer.
