OLATHE — Kansas State University Olathe is hosting an animal health conference Sep. 17-19 that will provide industry professionals with the knowledge and practical skills they need to navigate United States Department of Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration compliance.

Agency representatives along with industry experts will lead attendees through sessions and case study workshops at the 2024 Animal Heath Regulatory Affairs: Working Successfully with USDA and FDA conference.

This three-day, in-person conference features time to network with subject matter experts and a professional skills course. Session topics include:

  • An overview of key agencies and what each one regulates
  • FDA and USDA inspections
  • Pharmacovigilance
  • EPA and FDA agreement
  • Deviations and corrective action plans
  • CRO selection and compliance
  • Outlines of production for USDA
  • Bioequivalence and biowaivers

The USDA and FDA regulate products and biologics designed for animal use, which makes navigating the regulatory space challenging for individuals who are new to the industry or whose previous work has centered on human drug development.

Attendees will have the opportunity to pick a conference track that relates to an agency based on their work. The first evening of the conference includes dinner with subject matter experts so attendees can strategically network and connect. To further deepen knowledge of the regulatory affairs processes, everyone will engage in hands-on activities designed to practice what they have learned in the case study workshop.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to grow your understanding of these agencies plus network with animal health professionals, attend a professional skills course and practice what you’ve learned with a case study workshop, the 2024 Animal Health Regulatory Affairs: Working Successfully with USDA and FDA conference is open for registration.
