K-State Olathe Welcomes Community at April 26 Grand Opening

OLATHE - Kansas State University celebrated the dedication of its first building, the International Animal Health and Food Safety Institute on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the new K-State Olathe campus. An open house for the public followed the dedication ceremony.

OLATHE - With the U.S. Food and Drug Administration reporting that about a third of the U.S. population has mild to severe illnesses caused by pathogens in food each year, food safety has become an increasingly important topic. More than 5,000 people in the U.S. die from food poisoning annually.
A workshop designed to update Kansas science teachers on the latest food safety information is planned for June 13-16 at the Kansas State University Olathe campus.

OLATHE - A Teaching Food Safety Through Food Science Summer Teacher Workshop will be held June 13-16, 2011, at the Kansas State University Olathe campus in Olathe, Kan.
Food safety is an increasingly important public health issue. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration reports that approximately one third of the U.S. population has mild to severe illnesses caused by pathogens in food, and more than 5,000 people die from food poisoning each year.
Satellite sensory analysis center at K-State Olathe to offer product evaluation, focus groups and more

MANHATTAN - Kansas State University's internationally recognized Sensory Analysis Center is opening a satellite on K-State's new Olathe campus.
The K-State Olathe Sensory and Consumer Research Center will deal with consumer panels to analyze products related to food safety, food additives, pet foods and pharmaceuticals, according to Edgar Chambers IV, university distinguished professor of human nutrition and center co-director.

OLATHE - New opportunities for research, graduate education and more are coming to the Kansas City area with the opening of Kansas State University's newest campus in Olathe. A ribbon-cutting ceremony at K-State Olathe will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, with an open house for the public to follow until 7 p.m.
