Working in the Kansas City region for the majority of her career, Debbie has built relationships with industry and the community to help advance the mission of K-State Olathe. These partnerships have enabled the professional development team to develop programs that are in high demand by industry and their employees.

"The goal for K-State Olathe is to be a resource to help meet workforce needs in the region. Offering in demand professional development programs allows the current workforce to improve and make an immediate impact in their jobs and for their companies to succeed."

Fusing her knowledge of adult learning principles with strong community ties and relationship building, Lauren has helped revamp, add value to and increase enrollment for leadership and academic programs throughout the years, including Leadership Northeast and K-State Olathe's academic degree programs.

"Professional development education doesn't have to be boring. Learning should be engaging and done in partnership with the learner. K-State Olathe prides itself in offering trainings that participants want to be in and tell their colleagues."
