Kansas State University Hosts Premier Midwest Commercial Vehicle Safety Summit

OLATHE —Kansas State University's Department of Civil Engineering and K-State Olathe will host the 2025 Midwest Commercial Vehicle Safety Summit (MCVSS) Dec.16-17 at the Loews Kansas City Hotel. The regional conference aims to significantly reduce commercial vehicle crashes through collaborative innovation and knowledge sharing among safety professionals across the Midwest.
The summit will convene key stakeholders from federal agencies, private industry, law enforcement, transportation safety engineering firms, universities, insurance companies and nonprofit organizations to address critical safety challenges facing the commercial vehicle industry.
"The need to develop and expand commercial vehicle safety planning is ever present with an increased demand of shipping goods across the nation," said Eric Fitzsimmons, P.E., associate professor of civil engineering. "With the opportunity to come together in-person this year, we are looking forward to the summit to affect meaningful change in the transportation industry in the Midwest."
