Human Resource management workshop for Kansas City area professionals to be hosted by the College of Business Administration

An expert in human resource management and entrepreneurship will lead the last seminar of the Fall 2012 Corporate Entrepreneurship and Innovation Series, a part of the College of Business Administration's Professional Education Seminars at Kansas State University Olathe.

James Hayton, a Professor of human resource management and entrepreneurship at the Warwick Business School in the UK will present “Building Entrepreneurial Capabilities within your Organization: The Role of the HR Function,” Thursday, Dec. 13 2012, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the K-State Olathe campus, 22201 W. Innovation Drive.

The seminar will give attendees an understanding of the strategic importance of hiring and developing innovative and entrepreneurial employees in any organization, and the tools to develop recruiting and selection programs, insight on developing creative and motivated employees, as well as a strategic perspective on building the entrepreneurial organization.

The seminar is approved for two Society of Human Resource Management credits, and is pre-approved by the HR Institute for two re-accreditation credits. Entry and mid-career professionals in human resources and management, as well as entrepreneurs will take most advantage of the seminar.

Hayton is a leader in human resource management education, leading executive education seminars in Europe, and working as editor or editorial board member of several human resource management journals including being the editor-in-chief of Human Resource Management, the only HRM journal ranked in the Financial Times’ Top 40.

The College of Business Administration's Professional Education Series will continue after the first of the year at K-State Olathe with a series of seminars on finance, and in the summer with an entrepreneurship bootcamp.

The College of Business Administration at Kansas State University is an AACSB accredited institution. The college offers six undergraduate majors , two minors, MBA and MAcc programs, as well as three graduate certificate programs in leadership, business administration and animal health organization management. The college also offers Professional Education in the Kansas City-area in conjunction with the Division of Continuing Education and K-State Olathe.
