Basics of Pneumatic Conveying

Dec. 2-3

Pneumatic conveying is the most widely used method for transporting bulk solid materials, but frequent problems occur because few people receive formal training about the technology. This course provides a broad education about everything related to pneumatic conveying. Students receive an expert lecture about each topic, then take part in hands-on demonstrations using working components and actual conveying systems.

Feb. 24-25, 2026

Processing and handling of powders and other bulk solid materials is widespread,
but proper operation and system design are a challenge. Learning is difficult
partly because there are so many variations and partly because no one teaches it
in college. Accordingly, this course is intended to provide a basic understanding
about the various bulk solid processes and handling methods.

This course covers the fundamentals of automation and process control systems used in modern manufacturing and industrial operations. Participants learn how PLC’s, and control strategies work together to improve consistency, accuracy and efficiency. The class also explores how automation data can support troubleshooting and performance optimization.

 

 

Reliable Flow from Hoppers

Sept. 22-23, 2026

This class focuses on how materials move through hoppers and the common challenges that affect flow efficiency. Participants learn about material properties, hopper design and flow aids that prevent blockages and ensure consistent output. Fundamentals of Dust Collection

Oct. 27-29, 2026

Dust collection is a part of every facility that handles powders and other bulk solid materials, but practical instruction is hard to come by. This course will explain how dust collection systems are designed and explain selection and sizing for each component. Dust explosion hazards and prevention also will be explained.

 

 

Advanced Pneumatic Conveying

Dec. 8-10, 2026

This advanced course builds on foundational pneumatic conveying knowledge and is designed for those who want deeper expertise in system performance and troubleshooting. Participants explore complex topics such as pipeline design optimization, material degradation, attrition control, air management and advanced control strategies. Through expert-led instruction and hands-on work with full-scale components and systems, students learn to diagnose issues, improve efficiency and tailor conveying solutions to challenging materials and environments.
