Cooperative Program Admission
Eligible students must apply for admission at KSU by Jan. 30 prior to the end of their junior year. Students will apply as non-degree-seeking graduate students in the School of Applied and Interdisciplinary Studies through the K-State online application.
Students must submit the following documents with their application:
- Unofficial transcripts documenting that the student has completed 75 hours and has at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale in their undergraduate work (official transcripts will be required after program acceptance),
- A completed recommendation form from a faculty member in the Department of Natural, Health and Mathematical Sciences at MNU,
- A statement of objectives explaining why the student wants to participate in the cooperative program. The statement of objectives should also indicate if the student plans to apply to the VBS program or PSM program at Kansas State University after they have completed an undergraduate degree. The statement should be no more than one, single-spaced page. The student should use double spacing between paragraphs. (This information will be used to determine an appropriate graduate faculty advisor for the student while participating in the Program.)
Admission to the Program is solely up to KSU. KSU will make every effort to notify students if they have been admitted as a non-degree-seeking graduate student in the Cooperative Program by March 1.
Upon being granted admission, students may take up to 9 hours of approved classes at Kansas State University as non-degree-seeking graduate students starting1 the summer between their junior and senior years. Students must have completed at least 90 credit hours of their undergraduate degree before they may start taking classes at KSU.
Cooperative Program students will be identified in K-State's internal systems (College Net and KSIS) as non-baccalaureate/non-degree-seeking students participating in the KSU-MNU Cooperative Program.
Graduate Program Admission
Students must meet the eligibility criteria and be recommended by faculty prior to being formally admitted into the designated graduate program at KSU.
Selection of an eligible student to participate in the Cooperative Program is not a guarantee that the student will be granted admission to a specific graduate program. Students seeking admission to the Olathe-based VBS program will only be eligible for the nonthesis option. Students wishing to pursue thesis research will need to identify a faculty member at the Manhattan Campus to support their research and should expect to relocate to the Manhattan, Kansas, area for the duration of the degree program.
