Christine Splichal joined Kansas State University Olathe as its director of communications and marketing in 2015. She oversees marketing communications programs that support the growth and development of K-State Olathe and its educational, research and outreach initiatives. This includes assisting with strategic planning, management of communications campaigns, print and electronic materials development, and media contact.

She has more than 20 years of communication experience that spans agencies, corporate marketing and consulting. Splichal attended Kansas State University, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and mass communications specializing in public relations and marketing.

Prior to joining K-State Olathe, Splichal was the director of communications for the Spring Hill, Kansas, School District beginning in 2009. As one of the fastest growing districts in the state, she played a role in the strategic planning process and implemented a marketing communications program that was nationally recognized. Prior to 2009, she assisted multiple state-level Departments of Agriculture and Homeland Security with the planning and implementation of educational meetings, ultimately planning more than 350 meetings.

In addition, Splichal spent five years as a national marketing manager for HNTB Architects, Engineers and Planners. She helped design, develop and implement marketing communications programs to support the company's aviation and environmental engineering practices. She also has experience with both advertising and public relations agencies.
