Karin Brownlee

Olathe City Council

 

Karin BrownleeKarin Brownlee is a member of the Olathe City Council. She joined the council in 2017 after being elected to an at-large seat.

Prior to being a council member, Brownlee served as a Kansas senator for 14 years and also as the Kansas Secretary of Labor during former Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback's first term.

She is involved with many Olathe organizations, including the Olathe Chamber of Commerce, Olathe Noon Rotary and the Boys and Girls Club Advisory Board.

Brownlee is a past member of the Mahaffie Farmstead Advisory Board and the Mahaffie Stagecoach and Farm Foundation Board.

A lifelong Olathean, she graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in microbiology.

Brownlee and her husband, Doug, have four grown children and 17 grandchildren.
