Our Story
Kansas State University's Olathe campus opened to the Greater Kansas City community on April 26, 2011, as the newest of the university system's campuses and sharing its land-grant mission.
The campus' mission and LEED Silver Certified facility are the first higher education endeavor supported by a local tax. The ongoing tax support makes it equivalent to one of the country's largest endowments ever to a higher education public institution initiative.
Academic programs support Greater Kansas City's robust animal health, food production and nutrition, financial planning and leadership and education industries and sectors. K-State Olathe also works closely with community colleges and industry in Johnson County to establish an educational pipeline that spans from in-demand undergraduate and graduate programs.
