Steven Brockschmidt

Steven Brockschmidt is a student success coach at K-State Olathe.

In this role, he focuses on building relationships with learners to support them throughout their academic journeys from first inquiry through successful completion of their program and beyond.

He facilitates engaging professional presentations for various prospective student audiences, including industry partners, student groups and professional organizations. Additionally, he plans and leads events and activities both on and off campus.

Brockschmidt also collaborates with learners to guide them throughout their time as students and provide support services, including connecting them with university resources. Brockschmidt works closely with faculty to develop and execute recruitment and communication plans specific to each program for both current and prospective students.

Prior to joining the team at K-State Olathe, Brockschmidt served as an admissions representative for K-State Salina where he focused on developing personalized relationships with prospective students to support them through each step of the admissions process. Brockschmidt guided both traditional and non-traditional students on their journey to admission in undergraduate or graduate STEM degrees.

Additionally, he worked as a graduate assistant in the Military-Affiliated Student Center at the University of Kansas and as an English as a Second Language Teacher at Sam Tasby Middle School in Dallas ISD.

Brockschmidt holds an M.S. Ed. in Higher Education Administration and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction/Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Kansas, as well as a B.S. in Theater Performance with a minor in International Studies from Oklahoma Christian University.
