Matt Arnold

Matt Arnold is the food programs and services coordinator.

In this position, Arnold works directly with the food program and services manager and other K-State Olathe staff to support the planning and execution of food programs, events and classes. This position is focused on the day-to-day operations of the Food Innovation Accelerator, the food business incubator housed in the research kitchen complex on campus.

Arnold assists with client product development and refinement, ensures state inspection readiness and assists with licensing and state inspection compliance. Additionally, he maintains records, develops and executes food programming for campus partners and establishes food science summer camps. He also develops and presents materials for conferences and other events.

Prior to joining K-State Olathe, Arnold was the managing partner and executive chef at the Point 57 Kitchen and Cocktails in Cape Coral, Florida. He conceptualized and developed a new restaurant while supervising a team of nearly 40 staff members. Arnold created marketing strategies while leading the development of the business. In addition to coordinating the front and back of house operations, he also maintained high quality production, productivity and ensured customer service standards were exceeded.

In a career that has spanned over 20 years in restaurant and food services, Arnold has been an executive chef, general manager and owner. He also served as a consultant in restaurant development and management.

Arnold holds an associate of science in culinary arts from the New England Culinary Institute and a bachelor of general science in communication studies with a minor in organizational and public communications from the University of Kansas.
