Doctoral Defense

Gongshun Yang presents his doctoral defense.

Gongshun Yang, a Ph.D. candidate with the Sensory and Consumer Research Center, presented his doctoral defense, "Developing and Validating a Multi-Dimensional Scale for Freshness Perception of Home Air-Care Products," on Dec. 2, 2024. Yang worked with Martin Talavera, Ph.D., sensory center director.

 

KibbleCon

Sidharth Babu, a graduate student, presented the research poster "Understanding the sensory characteristics and pet owner acceptance of dog food produced with dried bakery products." Babu presented the poster at the 2024 KibbleCon, which was held Oct. 23-24, 2024, at K-State's Manhattan campus.

 

Society of Sensory Professionals Conference

Faculty, staff and students attended the Society of Sensory Professionals Conference on Oct. 2-24, 2024, where they presented research posters to colleagues in attendance.

"Optimizing Consumer Acceptance of Lucuma Ice Cream Based on Health Perception Segments Using DOE" was researched and presented by Sidharth Babu, Jeff Garza, Martin Talavera and Rajesh Kumar.

"Handedness and Scale Orientation Effects on Consumer Usage of Sensory Scaling" was presented by Doris Agyei with research by Tyler Butterfield, Martin Talavera and Rajesh Kumar.
