Current tenants
Bare
We love working with our tenants to help them upscale their products and services and to support them as they grow. Here's what the team at Bare has to say about working in the K-State kitchens.
"K-State Olathe has been an invaluable partner for our Arepas Pop-up. They've played a crucial role in helping us bring our Venezuelan culinary delights to the community. The support provided by K-State Olathe in terms of space and well-maintained, modern kitchen equipment has been instrumental in our success. The kitchens are not overcrowded, which allows us to work efficiently without the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen. The best part about working in these kitchens is the flexibility of time. We can prepare our food at our convenience, ensuring that every Arepa we serve is made with care and attention. Our product is all about bringing the taste of Venezuela to our customers through our pop-up, where we serve hot, ready-to-eat Arepas. We chose K-State Olathe for the same reasons that have made our journey here so successful - they've given us the space, resources, and support we need to thrive."
Mo Pie
"Kansas State University Olathe Campus has been a blessing for our business. We were in our second year of production when we learned we would be losing our lease on our bakery. We have been looking for a new location and unable to secure our new home before we were required to move out. K-State was a great fit for our temporary needs. The support from the K-State staff has been wonderful. They are constantly present and available for any needs we may have. The kitchen is pristine and in wonderful condition. We do have volume limitations but we realize we are sharing this space with so many other creative, passionate entrepreneurs. It is fun to meet these creative minds and share ideas. The space is centrally located for our team and the facility is so well equipped to meet most of our needs."
Paninis Bake
"Panini's Bakehouse all started with an idea of me wanting to be able to work for myself and make what I love. The biggest thing that helped me start my business was the love and support of my friends and family. I had no idea what I was doing and how to run a business. My peers told me I could do it, so I believed them and did just enough research to be able to get paninis Bakehouse rolling. It wasn't an overnight decision to open my business, and it definitely took me about 9 months to get the courage to start. I had to figure out how to get the proper licensing and paperwork to open a bakery. I had to learn customer service and social media. I asked for a lot of help from the people around me, and I was very frustrated at times, but it always worked out. The baking was a breeze for me but I did make mistakes, I always remind myself that some of my biggest mistakes have shown me how to be better. I slow launched and sold from home for a while, then I started to apply to farmers markets. When I got accepted into the Overland Park Farmer's Market, I knew I had to step up my game."
