Combine your head for business with your heart for helping others.
Start the Conversation
Become a personal financial planner to help clients achieve their financial and personal goals through family-oriented financial decision-making. Kansas State University - Olathe's B.S. in Personal Financial Planning is a CFP® Board registered bachelor's degree completion program that prepares you to excel in the in-demand wealth management profession.
In-Demand Career Field
Our personal financial planning students have a 100% employment rate and graduates can expect around $100,000 per year in their first 10 years of employment.
Over the next decade, the U.S. wealth managment and finance field is projected to grow by more than 30,000 jobs — increasing the demand for an already in-demand profession. This equates to an additional 5-6% projected job growth in Greater Kansas City, where the K-State Olathe campus is located.

Certification and Earning Potential
Those who earn their bachelor's degree are eligible to sit for the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ exam to earn their CFP® credential.
As a CFP®, you'll earn around $10,000 more in your first year of practice than those without the credential. The average starting salary for a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® is $50,000 - $80,000.
