Nick Wright

Technical Trooper Nick Wright began his law enforcement career as a Shawnee, Kansas police officer in 2002 and joined the Kansas Highway Patrol as a trooper in 2005 in the Kansas City area. He has been a certified commercial vehicle inspector since 2006 as a road trooper. In 2012, he transferred to the Patrol’s Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP), focusing on commercial vehicle enforcement full time. He is a National Training Center certified instructor in the North American Standard Part A, Part B, General Hazardous Materials, Cargo Tank Inspection and Other Bulk Packaging inspection courses. Wright is also a master instructor, giving him the opportunity to coach, mentor and certify new and experienced instructors.

In his current role as the training coordinator and public information officer, Wright oversees the commercial vehicle inspection training program in Kansas, where he instructs and recertifies all 300+ inspectors in the State of Kansas.

Wright has a passion for commercial vehicle enforcement and helping both enforcement and the trucking industry alike navigate the sometimes confusing regulations to ensure safety on the nation’s roadways.
