Anne Collins

Anne CollinsAnne Collins, NHTSA's Associate Administrator for Enforcement, is the principal advisor to the agency's senior leaders on matters related to enforcement actions. She leads the office that is responsible for investigating safety-related defects in vehicles and vehicle equipment, ensuring that manufacturers conduct recalls to remove unsafe vehicles and equipment from the nation's highways, and overseeing industry compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

Collins first joined NHTSA in 2020 as the agency's Associate Administrator for Administration. Before joining NHTSA, Collins was the Associate Administrator for Field Operations for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, where she led enforcement program delivery and collaborated with 11,000 state enforcement personnel. Collins managed complex investigations, implemented data-driven systemic improvements, developed safety campaigns designed to address risk and oversaw a $133 million capital improvement program on the southern border. Prior to joining the federal government, Collins spent more than 20 years working for the Massachusetts state government, where she focused on building efficient programs that promoted safety.

Collins is an attorney and graduated from the Northeastern University School of Law in Boston and Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. In 2014, she received the Meritorious Executive Presidential Rank Award.
