Life Science Lecture Series
Kansas State University Olathe and Olathe North High School are partnering to bring the Life Science Lecture Series to high school students, adults, and community members across the Kansas City Metro. The lecture series provides students, adults, and community members an opportunity to learn from experts about a variety of life science careers including those around animal health and food safety. Each lecture is one hour in length with time at the end of the presentation for student and or audience questions.
January 9: Bears on Thin Ice, Debra Ryder (KC Zoo)
February 20: Life as a Microbiologist in a Molecular Age, Dr. Kara Cooper (MRIGlobal)
March 6: Microvascular Inflammation, Dr. John Wood (KU Medical Center)
April 4: From the Farm to the Research Bench, Dr. Aron Fenton (KU Medical Center)
April 18: The Amazon Express: A Journey of Discovery and Endurance, West Hansesn (National Geographic sponsored ultramarathoner)
May 8: The Biosecurity Research Institute, Dr. Stephen Higgs (K-State BRI)
May 15: Emerging Food Safety Diseases, Dr. Pat Williams (K-State Olathe)

All lectures will be held from 4-5 p.m. in the Forum Hall at Kansas State University
Olathe at 22201 W. Innovation Drive.
