Teach Epidemiology

June 26-28, 2013

Teachers of science, mathematics, health, social studies, or a related discipline will benefit from the 3-day "Teach Epidemiology" workshop, during which an understanding of epidemiology, the science of public health, and standards-rich teaching experiences and materials that can be used immediately in the classrooms will be the outcomes.  

Epidemiology education aligns with the Framework for K-12 Science Education: Practices, Crosscutting Concepts, and Core Ideas, as well as with many of the National Science Education Standards, the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics, the National Health Education Standards, the Standards for the English Language Arts, and the Curriculum Standards for Social Studies.

Graduate Credit: Upon successful completion of all required program requirements, participants are eligible for one graduate credit from Kansas State University.

Fifteen (15) registration scholarships are available to Johnson County, KS Teachers.  Application deadline for all attendees is May 3, 2013.
