Gerry Craig has been an associate professor and the art department head at Kansas State University since 2007. She has a master of fine arts in fiber from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., and she received bachelor's degrees in fine arts in textile design and history of art from the University of Kansas.
Gerry was raised in Mulvane, Kan. She has been passionate about art for as long as she can remember. One of her earliest memories of having her breath taken away by beauty was when she was 4 years old and saw the suspended spiral staircase in the courthouse at Cottonwood Falls.
She is excited that K-State Olathe is going to make the good work of K-State known in metro Kansas City and believes the art will be an important part of that.
