Joseph Sopcich

Joseph SopcichPresident, Johnson County Community College

Before his recent appointment as the president of Johnson County Community College, Joseph Sopcich's responsibilities spanned all business services of the college including finance, budget, procurement, insurance and risk management, campus services and facilities planning, campus police department, institutional advancement, government affairs, and the college’s Performing Arts Series. He joined the college in October 1992 as the director of development for the JCCC Foundation and most recently was the executive vice president for administrative affairs/chief financial officer. Johnson County Community College is recognized as one of the top community colleges in the nation. Before joining the staff at JCCC, he worked at the Chicago Historical Society and Metropolitan Family Services in Chicago, formerly known as United Charities. He started his career in advertising at the Leo Burnett Company in Chicago.

Sopcich holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Kansas, an MBA and a B.A. in American Studies from the University of Notre Dame.
